The present essay provides an overview on the Umbria electoral law. After the 2001 Constitutional reform, the regional electoral law changed twice. From a diachronic starting point, the paper introduces the main elements of the regional electoral law adopted in 2015.The latter presents critical features that are arising some constitutionality doubts. From this perspective, the constitutionality test moves from rulings 1/2014 and 35/2017 adopted by the Italian Constitutional Court and goes ahead with the analysis of the peculiar majority and minority bonuses introduced by the regional law. The aim is to provide a spectrum of the possible scenarios at stake.
